A topical platelet gel derived from the patient’s own blood was found to hasten wound healing. In a report published in the May-June issue of the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, Hom DB and colleagues compared the healing of full-thickness skin punch wounds treated with topical autologous platelet gel (APG) applied to one thigh and conventional therapy (antibiotic ointment and/or occlusive dressings) applied to the other thigh in 8 healthy volunteers (5 punch sites per leg).

Researchers Soyka M et al in their study published in the latest issue of Schizophrenia Research report that 10.2% of a total of 1662 schizophrenic patients were convicted post-discharge, of which male schizophrenics (17.1%) surpassed females (5.3%) by a ratio of 3:1.
